CHAPTER I
IN THE BEGINNING
The Gospel according to Little Louie
And so it came to past that a child was born unto a mother named Mary. She wrapped the infant in swaddling clothes…. and placed him in the second floor of a 3 family house……on Englewood Ave…..in Waterbury CT.
The wise …..and some not so wise…. 235 Italian relatives….who lived in 3 family houses in the same neighborhood…….came bearing gifts: braciole, backala,..pizzagain, .prociutto, provolone, and about 11 dozen of sfoiglidelli from Ortone’s Bakery....….to celebrate the birth of the infant….. and to honor the proud parents.
That night the child was born… a great light appeared in the east.
But as the child grew older he became disillusioned when he discovered that that great light in the east was nothing more than the streetlight shinning into the second floor of his parent’s apartment….in the east end of town.
